I Am Having Pain In My Right Leg When I

I am having pain in my right leg when I stand up. When I walk the leg gives out and I have no support in the right leg. Pain is moderate to severe. Pain is in upper right thigh and in back of my knee. This is the first day this has happened and I am having trouble walking. I am 78 years old and concerned about falling Could this be a muscle or hamstring?
