I Am Having Pain In My Upper Left Groin Area.

I am having pain in my upper left groin area. i would rate the pain around 6-7 when it happens but it only lasts for 2-3 seconds at a time. Sometimes there is nothing for hours, sometimes it will happen many times in a row. Should i be concerned? Any idea what would cause that?
