I Am Having Pain In Some Of My Joints That

I am having pain in some of my joints that isn't being helped with my usual pain reliever (ibuprofen). The joint between my index finger and metacarpal is very tender. I have also been retaining fluid (3 lb weight gain this past week). I don't think this is the flu, but am puzzled by limited relief with analgesics.
