I Am Having Persistent Burning Dry Lip Discomfort With Associated

I am having persistent burning dry lip discomfort with associated redness around my lips......this is not chapped lips. Any ideas? I have tried numerous ointments, balms and Vaseline with little to no relief.....it comes and goes and seems to get worse and last longer each time. It is embarrassing and very uncomfortable.
