I Am Having Severe Back Pain, With Pins And Needles

I am having severe back pain, with pins and needles type pain in my rear end. My doctor gave me oxycodone/aceteminophen for pain. This does nothing to alleviate the pain. I go tomorrow for an evaluation due to being referred for physical therapy. What can I do in the mean time? The pain is excruciatingly bad.
