I Am Having Some Pain In My Left Leg On

I am having some pain in my left leg on the outside of my knee and just below. The pain is not constant, it just feels like my knee is not going to hold me up. I am 67 yrs old, and of course afraid of falling. I had wondered if maybe it was something to do with the sciatic nerve and what I may do to relieve this feeling
