I Am In No Pain But Both Of My Tonsils

I am in no pain but both of my tonsils are very swollen. Almost to the point where they touch. My lymph nodes in my neck are also severely engorged; you can visually see how swollen they are in the mirror. It is hard to swallow foods which are not wet or slippery; it's hard to breathe at night I cannot breathe prone; my speech is also affected. I have an appointment to see the doctor at the end of the week ( today is Monday). My tonsils have been swollen a week now and it is not only very bothersome but I am worried that might be a symptom a serious disease. Does anyone have any suggestions?
