I Am In Process Of Two Root Canals. I Have

I am in process of two root canals. I have a bridge on 3front teeth, and the teeth that held it broke off. My dentist intends to put post in each tooth and cement bridge on them. After first appt and two shots of novicane, my gum under my nose is extremely sore. My dentist won't cement bridge until pain is gone. Do you think it is infected. Dentist cannot see anything? I should add he is now on vacation
