I Am On 4mg Of Methprednisone And Have Polymyalgia Artirita

I am on 4mg of Methprednisone and have Polymyalgia Artirita and also Small Fiber Neurophy. I need to have bladder surgery and my Dr. wants me off the methprednisone at least 2 woks before surgery. Everything I go off the Methpredisone my systems reappear. Can I still have the surgery and be on these drugs?
