Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on day 11 of quitting smoking. I am using the patch which has been extremely successful. As of this week, I have the strangest odor in my nose. Chemical like kerosene or strong paint maybe turpentine. Is this normal for a person who has smoked for some 30 years to experience this kind of thing. I did have this problem when I was menstruating (I am post menopausal by 3 years) about two days before my period. It wasn't a kerosene smell but a lingering, annoying odor that could not be identified. I have read that it could be a couple of things. I have purchased the Navage nasal cleanser to see if that will help. If I had a brain tumor wouldn't there be other symptoms?
