Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on day 5 of penicillin prior to a scheduled root canal on one of my front teeth. I woke up this morning with a swollen gum and a white line over a molar 3 teeth away from the front tooth that needs the root canal. Is this likely to be a problem related to the initial tooth or a separate problem. I'm 60 years old and have my teeth cleaned and examined by my dentist 2x each year. Since I was just there on Tuesday, I'm wondering if I need to go back or can I wait for this infection to be cleared up on its own.
