I Am On Insuline For Last More Then Three Years.

I am on insuline for last more then three years. Dose and other medicines I am taking for diabetes is appended:

Glimipride 2 mg. One B.D
Istamet 50/1000. One B.D
Insuline Lispro. 25 units B.D
Insuline Lantus. 25 units H.S

Sugar levels are
Fasting. 100-130
PP. 180-220
Rendom. 180-230

Recently one doctor told that patients on insuline need not to take glimipride, as insuline dependence indicates that beta cells of pencrease are non functional.

Is that doctor right.

Secondly he told that intake of Istamet may result appearance of sugar in urine you need not worry

Third question some of my friends in medical line told me that Istmet may cause thyroid and recently thyroid with value 14 have been detected in me about 3-4 months back.
Should I stop Istamet...?

Fourth question
I am a cardiac patient of 61 years undergone byepass surgery my lipid profile is cholesterol 170
Triglicride 520
Is this high value of triglyceride also due to Istmet or other medicines for diabetes and no medicine such as Tonact TG, Rosuvastatin 20mg with finofiberate 160 mg giving any positive relief. What should I do...?
