I Am On My Period, I Don't Know If It

I am on my period, I don't know if it is relevant. My clitoris is a bit sore and so is my labia minora. I think they may be slightly swollen but I am not sure. My vagina has a very strong and unpleasant odor that changes. Sometimes it smells very fishy, sometimes it more resembles feces and metal. I bathe everyday (and since the odor has begun, sometimes I bathe twice a day.) I also wipe well, so I don't think that smell can be contributed to that. Could this be caused from my tampons? The smell seems related to my use of tampons, but I don't recall tampons ever having been an issue before. However, I did buy a new box of tampons that are incredibly cheap, and uncomfortable. Even so, I am also using other tampons that aren't cheap and the problems persists.
