I Am Ordered 25 Mg. Of Toprol Daily And The

I am ordered 25 mg. of Toprol daily and the pharmacist recommended that I have the doctor prescribe the 50 mg. tab. (which is scored) and I cut it in 1/2, to save money (pill splitting). However, I am now noticing that my b/p is elevated which it has never been before. I started this in January. Could this be my problem?
