I Am Post Menopausal (72) Experienced Sudden, Painless Urinary Bleeding

I am post menopausal (72) experienced sudden, painless urinary bleeding (~200 ml in 3 hr only on urination on 23 Oct that tapered to spotting after 5 h)
Gynocologist plans office-based endometrial biopsy in 3 days, prescribed 4 100 mg vaginal Cytotec pills (2 night before, then 2 prior to biopsy) to soften, dilate cervix . Pharmacy says they may not be able to get it in time. What are benefits/harms of my not taking the Cytotec. I want to make it easy as possible for both MD and me. How do patients fare who do this procedure without Cytotec?
