I Am Prescribed .25mg Twice Daily As Needed But I

I am prescribed .25mg twice daily as needed but I rarely take it. I usually drink alcohol to calm myself during anxiety but the hangovers are getting worse so I have barely drank at all in the last few weeks. Instead I have been taking the xanax. Usually I break 1 in half for bedtime and I'll break them up and take 1/4 once or twice during the day if needed. Am I in danger if I wanted to have 1-3 beers or wine on occasion?
