I Am Researching Sternal Wires After CABG That Are Broken

I am researching sternal wires after CABG that are broken and the sternum has never healed.
What procedure is required to re-wire the sternum? My husband is 300 pounds and had his surgery 1-1/2 years ago. He has been constantly nauseated and has been told it is from the "shifting" of his internal organs due to the broken sternal wires. Are there different weight wires as there are different sutures?
