I Am Scheduled For A CT On My Lungs. I

I am scheduled for a CT on my lungs. I have a terrible cough that gets worse when I lie down. Will the test be able to be completed if I am coughing? Also, what special preparations should I make as I have received no instructions other than the time I need to show up.
