I Am Scheduled For Some Outpatient Surgery On 2/29 -

I am scheduled for some outpatient surgery on 2/29 - I am having problems getting medical clearance. Apparently, my white blood count is elevated and has been for some time. I have no symptoms except for the usual chronic sinus drainage - but the fluid is clear. I am scheduled to see a hematologist on Monday. What tests will be involved? What could be causing the elevation? I no temperature, EKG is normal, chest x-ray is clear. So what can I expect? Thank you!
