I Am Taking Ammiodarone For The Last 18 Years At

I am taking ammiodarone for the last 18 Years at 200 mg a day . No side effects . I have Tachacardia and in the past 2 weeks my defib fired and it was appropiate shock . My doctor nw is prescribing 400 mg of Mexilitine another anti arrhythmia drug at 200 mg twice a day. Is that too much.
