I Am Taking Pantoprazole 40mg For Several Years Now For

I am taking pantoprazole 40mg for several years now for heartburn. I currently have a sour stomach. Frequent small burps and bad taste/smell from them as well. Will tums help relieve this condition? This has occurred several times during this holiday season. My diet has changed during the holidays and I am thinking this might be part of the problem.
