I Am Taking Primolut N As I Am Going Away

I am taking primolut N as I am going away on a 3 week hiking and water rafting trip in a few day, I thought my period was on a different day and thought I had time but it started today, if I take the pill now will it stop my period until I stop taking the pills, and if it would work how many would I need to take for that to happen ??
