I Am Taking The Drug Metronidazole Po For A Diverticulitis

I am taking the drug metronidazole po for a diverticulitis problem of which I was hospitalized for a few days this past week, I am having a tough time keeping this down even taking it with food, and I have pain in my upper gut with bloating headaches and a weakness feeling. Can I stop this pil and can my doctor prescribe a different med? I also am taking ciproil but not at the same time. I also take a probiotic.
