I Am The Mother Of A 31 Years Old Male

I am the mother of a 31 years old male that lives with me, and can't get through to him. He sleeps almost 12-14 hours a day. He has been going to school since High School, still can't come up with a certificate of some sort. Him and his Dr. a psychiotrist, won't talk to me about my son's mental health. While I understand there is Patient & Dr. Confidentiality, but how can I help him if I don't know what is going on with my son.
I know he has been diagnose with psychosis, and has been on medicines for about 8-10 years, and don't see much improvement with him. While I understand that he is struggling with what is going on with him, but I wish there was a different option for his mental health, besides pills, because he relies on them to much. I know he blames me for his mental illness, but he is 31 years old, and needs to move forward with his life, and stop playing the "blaming " card. I think that my son needs to see a Pshchologist, to help him find his way in life, like to show him the way, step by step, not to rely on medication so much.
Sometimes, I feel like maybe I need to go see a counselor, to show me how to best talk to my son, instead of shutting me out completely.

Thank you,
