I Am Very Confused About A Medicine I Was Prescribed,

I am very confused about a medicine I was prescribed, Vanatol LQ. It has Butalbital a barbiturate to make me sleepy but caffeine and any coffee or caffeine keeps me awake. Head is in extreme pain but don't want to be awake all night or sleep all morning. Hiw does this work?
