I Banged My Knee On Medal A Year Ago. I

I banged my knee on medal a year ago. I now get excruciating pain over my knee cap and I can see the vein which hurts to the touch. Please tell me what I should do? I have had x-ray and was told there was no damage and have been told it was arthritis. Is that possible or could there possibly be damage to the vein?
