I Believe I Have A Hernia. The Pain Comes And

I believe I have a hernia. The pain comes and goes and when I do have pain, I feel a slight lump around my belly. I first noticed it when I was pregnant. I thought it was my baby pushing against my belly button but since having him, the pain comes and goes. What type of doctor should I see about this? I do have a primary physician, just not sure if I should go straight to them or seek another type of doctor.
