I Believe I Have The Flu & My Dr Prescribed

I believe I have the flu & my Dr prescribed Cipro, which is for a bacterial infection -- I didn't actually see my Dr I just gave my symptoms over the phone. After only 1 dose of the drug I developed diarrhea & just didn't feel well so have decided not 2 take any more of the Cipro. Is there another drug that may help w/t symptoms at this point? I've been sick since last Sat. & my coughing is the worst!
