I Believe I Have Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, Plus Possible Other

I believe i have cubital tunnel syndrome, plus possible other nerve compression stemming from shoulder blade. My appointment with orthopedist hand specialist isn't for another 3 weeks. My question is that my pinky is often cold and painful, and numbness has extended to meaty part of hand under pinky. Wondering if waiting another 3 weeks will be harmful--how long before muscle atrophy can set in? I type a lot and do have typing coordination problems with pinky and middle finger. Also, this has become symmetrical and is now extending to other hand as well, although not as severe.
