I bought a mesh bag of sweet potatoes two days ago. Today I cleaned and cut them and found lots of little white spots on the INSIDE of the potatoes. I have RA and am careful about cleaning all my produce and I don't recall seeing these spots before. If I boil them instead of baking, will they be safe to eat? I don't want to get food poisoning. I had to toss a few that were soft and moldy looking on the outside. The ones I kept & cut were not soft. Thanks for you help.
