I Broke My Fibula 6 Weeks Ago. No Surgery Was

I broke my fibula 6 weeks ago. No surgery was required. The doctor said I could now walk on it (6 weeks and 3 days) but did not x ray it to confirm this.
I still have slight discomfort when I walk and there is a lump near to where it broke previously. The lump does not hurt significantly when I press on it.
What could this lump be?
