I Broke My Finger And My Nail Fell Off Grew

I broke my finger and my nail fell off grew back as of something was pushing one side of it down. Then I had a soft spot on my finger nail that hurt when touched. I noticed I could peal the picece of nail covering soft spot off. I did. Full nail underneath and and piece of flesh is now where the soft spot was still hurts when touched. What is this?
