I Burned My Hand While A Holding A Propane Canister

I burned my hand while a holding a propane canister and it ignited while I turned the know. I did not know it was turned on. It happened about 1or 1-1/2 hour ago. I have put ice on it. it seems to be blistering on my knuckles and hurts like heck when I don't have the ice on it. I just put on petroleum jelly. It is still hurting a lot.
