Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I burned or damaged my skin by using wax strips. The areas affected were the outside area under my eye brow and above my lip and side of mouth. I was given antibiotics for 7 days and was using antibiotic cream and the eyes have healed just fine. The side of my mouth is red, cracked, burns and itches. I was given another round of antibiotics and was told to stop using antibiotic ointment and use anti- fungal ointment. This was told to me by a family physician, not a dermatologist. Can you please tell me what the best way is to treat this? It does dry out and then gets white and flaky with skin. Also when I eat it cracks back open. Do I need to go on a liquid diet so I don't open my mouth? Please help!
