I Can See My Epiglottis When I Open My Mouth

I can see my epiglottis when i open my mouth wide and i feel like theres something in my throat that im always swallowing. But don't have any symptoms? And i've been sick for a fee days. My doctor said i have tonsilitis and that i have visible epiglottis. Do i have epiglotitis or its just nothing just a tonsilitis?
