I Cannot Sleep Due To Sharp Pin Prick Pains In

I cannot sleep due to sharp pin prick pains in my foot, two different locations at different times, sometimes a few minutes apart and sometimes longer (thus waking me up again). What possible conditions might this precede or be an indicator of? I am a relatively healthy 60 year old male .
