I Can't Stop Coughing, I Have A Cold & Just

I can't stop coughing, I have a cold & just started cefdinir with a cough syrup. I've tried humidifier, steam, hot tea, honey, lemon, soups, gatorade. I have a severe headache, sure that is due to coughing. I do have RA & I called RA Dr. & GP, they both said give it a couple days. However I'm miserable, hurting & crying. Do you have any suggestions?
