I complained to my doctor that I have burning and aching in my shoulders and upper arms. A blood test revealed I have high uric acid and the doctor therefore, said my pain is from gout. I always thought gout was acute and lasted a few days to maybe a week at that time, possibly with recurrent bouts. Is it possible that gout can be chronic, as well?
