I Cough Up Mucus And Flem Every Single Day Of

I cough up mucus and flem every single day of my life, for about a year. I have been to the doctor and have had a cat scan and a chest X-Ray done. It was ruled out that it isn't cancer (which was my main concern). I call it flem because when it comes up and stays connected ( it is gross but hard to explain typing). Very long, and thick. It isn't really a cough so much as a feeling that I am going to have to spend anywhere from half an hour to as long as 3 hours eliminating the mucus. It coincides with my nose also needing to be blown. One does not happen without the other. Ever. Sometimes I am ok for about an hour in the morning and other times it happens right away, but it is always after I have been lying down for an extended period of time. I do smoke but I know that it is not from that. Sometimes it will "finish" coming up a little more after the morning ordeal.I always know when I am pretty much done because of the feeling that it is finally all out.I have tried sinus meds (OTC) with Guaifenesin, mucus with cough, Albuterol, Benadryl, and other similar products. I am really in pain afterwards in my throat, chest,muscles,and totally exhausted. I have also seen a specialist and he gave me a prescription for Albuterol.Most things I have tried work for a couple days and then they stop.I have also found some comfort in my Biotin.
I am running out of options and hope.
