I currently am in third day of light viral-type symptoms: very mild headache, fatigue, chills. Posslbly also a low fever. Symptoms are steady, not better or worse on 3rd day. No respiratory congestion. Other symptom this morning was slightly altered sense of hearing (now back to normal). I assumed the whole thing was a low-grade migraine, which I get about every five years.
Then today I noticed skin lesions. Both sides of body and and they DO NOT include the tingles and pain that i once experienced when I had shingles, years ago.
Rash consists of a several small fluid-filled blisters on hands and also larger raised red painful areas (the size of dimes or nickels) on my shins. Also red spots here and there on both upper arms. One big pink blotch the size of a quarter on my torso in front.
I am not allergic to anything and not under unusual stress. I'm 60 years old, female. I don't take any medications. I'm slender and active, with no health problems. I live in Pacific Northwest but spent time in New Orleans up til Jan 6. I could have been exposed to mold or fungi in a construction project I helped with. Otherwise nothing unusual in my environment that I'm aware of. I don't think I was bitten by anything -- or at least, nothing I know about.
Should I assume this is just a virus that includes a rash, and wait for it to go away? So far I have only taken one single Advil, this morning.
