I Cut My Finger And It Bleed Just For A

I cut my finger and it bleed just for a few minutes just below the second joint on my index finger and now my finger is numb. I have a band aid on the cut which is small and it is not to tight. Will the numbness go away or could I have damaged something .I was cutting a package open and sort of cut it by poking it with the end of the knife.
