I Cut Myself A Few Hours Ago With A Razor

I cut myself a few hours ago with a razor blade (clean never used) probably a cm deep and3/4 an inch long. I ran it under water and stoped the bleeding then put a closoure strip on it. Now i change the closoure strip and washed it with hydrogen peroxide. The cut then smelled after the peroxide. Is that just the peroxide or is it an infection? Can an infection start in just a few hours?
