I Damaged My Nail Memorial Day Weekend. Under The Nail

I damaged my nail Memorial Day weekend. Under the nail the finger was badly bruised. The finger nail is growing out, but today I noticed an oder from that particular nail . . . nothing has really changed with the nail other than it is continuing to grow. Could it just be that the dried blood area is growing out and that is what is causing the smell? Thank you
