I Developed An Itchy Red Rash On The Left Side

I developed an itchy red rash on the left side of my neck yesterday morning about 36hrs ago. It has not diminished in size, redness or burning sensation. I have rinsed it well and have not applied anything that could be irritating the area. Is there a home remedy or shall I have a doctor check it out?
