I Fell A Few Days Ago While Walking My Dog.

I fell a few days ago while walking my dog. My right arm took the brunt of the fall and I had some serious inflammation of the lower arm. I have been using ice daily and the inflammation is gradually being reduced. I see no signs of any infection although my skin suffered some minor abrasions. Shall I stay with this protocol? At what point do I stop using ice and switch to heat?
