I Fell Down 3 Steps, Went To ER Had An

I fell down 3 steps, went to ER had an x ray she referred me to the muscle, bone, n joint center, gave me a soft cast and sent me on my way. My ankle is the size of a plum and severely hurts, I did everything, except go to the muscle bone and joint place. I am on disability and cant even afford the co-pay. How can I tell if I have a torn ligament? Until I can get enough for the co-pay?
