I Fell Down A Flight Of Stairs 3 Weeks Ago.

I fell down a flight of stairs 3 weeks ago. I slip down the stairs on my left leg. It began burning and aching more today than the last few days. There is a knot and heat where the knot is. It is also red where the knot is. Is this something that I should be concerned about or is it just going to take time to heal?
