I Fell Down My Stairs Which Have Metal Caps On

I fell down my stairs which have metal caps on the end and I scrapped akin off all the way down to my foot. It hurt so bad I couldn't move for hrs its been bruised for three weeks and still hurts now. Did I break something ? Could it be internally broke
