I Forgot My Tampon Was In For Nine Days And

I forgot my tampon was in for nine days and have had very sharp lower abdomen pain for the last four days. I just pulled the tampon out and checked my temp which is 99.9. No fowl smell from down there just not sure if I should make an appointment with my doctor to check things out or if this is normal.
