I Found Out I Have Shingles On Tuesday....was Caught Early

I found out I have shingles on Tuesday....was caught early according to my Dr. I started an antiviral VALACYCLOVIR that evening. It seems I continue to get new rashes daily. Is that common? I was/am a cancer patient...finished chemo end of Oct ...had 6 2-month cycles. Is the antiviral med effective with all the chemo meds still in my system? Approximate end to the shingles rashes???
